So many visitors come to Louisiana for our cuisine, and we can't blame them! However, you don't have to drive into the city to get a taste of the area's best bites. In fact, we think the River Parishes feature some of the most delicious restaurants around. Some of our can't-miss spots include St. Rose Tavern, Frenier Landing, and Luling Bar-B-Q. You'll also find some of the best andouille sausage right here in LaPlace—they even hold an Andouille Festival every October!

Getting Around

Wondering why commuters love living in the River Parishes? It's easy to get around when you live less than a half hour from the center of New Orleans and just 15 minutes away from an international airport. US-90, US-60, and I-310 connect the parishes and lead east to Metairie, which makes traveling a breeze. You can also take advantage of the River Parishes Transit Authority, which operates plenty of bus routes throughout the area.
